ROCKLAND COUNTY DWI ATTORNEY- CONDITIONAL LICENSES
If you have taken a breathalyzer and this is the first arrest for DWI, NY DMV may allow you tak obtain a conditional license to drive to and from work,school and the doctor's office. The most imprtant thing to keep in mind is that these licenses are revocable if you are charged with a minor traffic offense, like no seatbelt. There are restrictions with these licenses. You cannot be out at 3 in the morning driving with your friends like you would if you had a normal license. Another important factor is that a judge may decide for certain reasons that he does not want you to obtain a conditional license and he can tell the DMV not to issue you one.
The fee is $75 and is payable to DMV. You must however wait 30 days from the date of arrest to be eligible for the conditional license.
